Universal Hotsticks are used by utility lineworker to perform Live-Line work on energized line equipment. Hotsticks are sometimes called “working sticks” since these tools are designed to be used as hotstick handles for dozens of tools that attach to the Universal Head (Spline) fitting. Universal Heads are equipped with wingscrews that allow the user to attach universal tools at different angles relative to the stick.
Another end fitting style is a Threaded Ferrule which is predominately used in the Western part of the United States. The Threaded Ferrule fitting accepts a 5/8”-11 thread-ed stud and has a hexagonal portion for locking with matching tools.
The insulating portion of these tools (yellow poles) meet ASTM F-711 and are constructed of electrical grade fiberglass reinforced thermoset resins that surround a uni-cell foam core.
Available Options (L to R):
Universal Head with Tie Wire Assist
Universal Head with Tool Hanger
Molded End Cap
Threaded Ferrule with Tie Wire Assist
Threaded Ferrule with Tool Hanger
These Hotsticks are manufactured by Rauckman Utility Products in the United States of America and are part of Hotline Tools line of products from Rauckman Utility.
The poles are available in 1.25 and 1.5 inch diameters and with lengths from 4′ to 18′. See the product brochure (documents tab) for complete list of available options and their model numbers.
